Plant/Tree

THUJA OCCIDENTALIS 'BRANDON' Brandon Cedar / 삼나무

Jarden 2024. 7. 25. 22:00

We planted the front yard, THUJA OCCIDENTALIS 'BRANDON' Brandon Cedar as a fence around June 16, 2017

24pcs to around / cl 1. 99 (org 7.99) under $50, it is quite a deal.

I wanted some privacy and also I envied the house with a tree fence. without knowing what to do... just did it.

The earliest photo I can find of this fence tree,

so 5 years later, these small $2 plants grow well. Without notice, it grows 10cm a year. Maybe it will be worth being as a fence after 5more years. I noticed some dried leaves from inside of trees this fall, I hope this may not be a bad sign.

June 13, 2022 (5yr later) From 20cm to 80cm

July 25, 2024 (+2yr) 80cm to 180cm

July 23, 2024, some trees are taller than me. 80cm to 180cm. Now even thinking of cutting down the heights for the fence. Because it may be hard to manage if taller than me. So the idea of using trees as a fence was a successful project even without a clear plan. I need to look up how to fill the gap between trees and a more reliable fence.

Care for the Ceder tree fence

Trim Cedar Hedges to Encourage GrowthIf you want your cedar hedge to grow full and even, be sure to trim it at the right time of year. By trimming new growth at the top of the plant in the spring, the growth hormones will be directed into existing areas,

Pyramid cedars are a beautiful forest green, and their dense columnar shape make them an excellent choice to form a solid dense hedge.
