Apple tree / 사과나무

It may not be the first plant I started in this home but these 2 apple trees are the largest in our home which I started even from seeds that I ate. Now I know which apple is the best for my tastes (AMBROSIA), I try out different species. It may be the Gala. it may be started in 2016.

 

 

Aug,22 first Apple shows. Over 3 meters.

My neighbour planted a medium-sized apple tree around 3 years ago.. even though smaller than my tree, this year quite a lot of apple shows.

My apple tree comes from seed so may not be fruitful. 

 

 Sep 16, 2022, I took out only one apple which is so precious..but sadly, there's a scar, and ants invaded. 

but the taste was not bad. little sour, crisp, and some sweet also. 

I still cannot figure out what is this kind.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In April, 2023 apple flower bloomed. As I expected we may get more apples than last year. 

 

In June, several clusters of apples were noticed. Thin out needed

June 26, 2023, Thin out apples. From Big Tree, thin out 6 or 7. around 10 left. From the small tree, 3 or 4 thin out, 6 or 7 left. Let's wait until September. 

 

Aug 2, 24,  forgot to update for last year. I remembered not good condition, most of them used for juice. This year, I pruning some branches.

 

 

Aug 2,24 from the #2 apple tree more than 10 small apples disappeared when I checked today. I suspect squirrels.

Sep 9, 2024  #1 apple tree was also attacked by squirrels by leaving 2 ugly apples and evidence. This is discouraging to maintain the apple trees.
