Mainline sewer blockage

It happens suddenly without notice. At first, we thought some water flooded from a wall or something. Later, some debris with waste, was found in the place of the drain blocked. Without using, it drains 1 flush for 2hr waiting. It’s not the toilet or sink blockage which is minor issues than this.

At first, we don’t know what to do. I searched and decided to call 311 to make sure of our line or city line problem. The agent came and asked the opening cap to check the sewer line. I never know we have that in our scrolling ground. He put the camera all the way and confirmed of no city sewer problem. Thank him and 311.

Cannot fit the big one to put, middle one cannot bigger to fit the pipe either.

I already tried to use drain bladder for the mainline opening which I saw on YouTube. However, the previous owner who renovated the bathroom put a smaller cover and pipes which cannot able to use 3size drain bladders.

She got advice from friends about the strong liquids from HomeDepot, Green Goblin mainline opener 30$, together with Instant Power Mainline Cleaner 15$. 8hr for 2 days, with boiling water makes more complete blockage which does not drain at all after applying those liquids. No use.

The final option was to rent the Drain cleaner machine. 84$ for min 4hr. 100ft Autofeed one. So big and heavy that, barely fit in our small SUV. Because the small cover of the pipe, is barely fit to use. Simple to use, I chose the 100ft rather than 50ft because I was not sure, it almost reached 45ft I think until the blockage was located. Also happy to rent an auto, not a manual which was cheaper and might be harder to use. I need assistance to move the and check the tip of the machine through. Finally, it goes through and needs several times of forward and backward to widen the blockage part. On the tip, lots of roots were tangled. Finally, it was done from Saturday to Wednesday war. 

80$ for bladder sets and garden hose-fail
50$ for 2 liquids-fail
95$ for rent machine-works.

225$ to solve the problem. Next time, I may go Homedepot right away to lent the machine.
